Died:
- Harold J. Bud Gamache, 87, of Peru, passed away Tuesday, March 16, 2010 at Heartland Health Care, Henry, IL.
Funeral Services will be 9:45 a.m. Friday, at Mueller Funeral Home Peru, followed by Mass of Christian Burial 10:30 a.m. at St. Patrick Church, LaSalle with Msgr. Dale Wellman officiating. Burial at St. Joseph Cemetery, Spring Valley where the Peru Veterans Memorial Group will conduct full military rites. Visitation will be 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home with a prayer service at 7 p.m. conducted by Rev. Tom Mizeur.
Mr. Gamache was born October 18, 1922 in LaSalle to Harold V. and Edith (Zeaske) Gamache. He married Marian Damm on October 18, 1944 at St. Mels Parish in Chicago. He was in the car business, both as a mechanic and then as a salesman/sales manager. He was released from a German prisoner of war camp in September of 1944 serving in the Army Air Corp. He was a member of St. Patrick Church, LaSalle, CWV past commander, St. Patrick School Club past president, Knights of Columbus, P.O.Ws of Romania, Spring Valley Boat Club and Peru American Legion.
He is survived by his wife Marian, a daughter Patricia (Eugene) Pattelli, Rural Hennepin; 2 sons, James B. Gamache of Aurora and Kenneth J. (Debbie) Gamache of Tullahoma, TN; 7 grandchildren, Michelle Joyce, Bradley Pattelli, Shamus Gamache, Tate Gamache, Kelly Lovar, Christine Menninger, and Angie Baughman; 12 great-grandchildren; one sister, Mary George, Upland, CA and many nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Jeannette Mackjust and Anita Dittmar.
Pallbearers will be Dick Wellner, Bradley Pattelli, Rusty Joyce, Rusty Joyce, Jr., Eugene Pattelli, and Michael Menninger.
Memorials may be directed to St. Bede Academy.
