ANNA MARIE (GAMACHE) FORCIER COTE, 89, of Bowen Street, a retired real-estate broker, died Saturday at Charlton Memorial Hospital.
She had been the wife of the late Wilfrid C. Cote, and of the late Leo O. Forcier. Born in Fall River, she was a daughter of the late Joseph B. and Anna M. (Dufour) Gamache. She attended Middleboro (Mass.) High School and earned her real-estate license at Stonehill College, in Stoughton, Mass.
Mrs. Cote had been the owner and broker of Archambault Associates realty, until retiring in 1995. She was a member of the Fall River Board of Realtors.
Active in civic affairs, she attended City Council and community-development meetings to advocate for housing improvements and other projects, and was a frequent caller to radio talk shows. She was a founder and former secretary and treasurer of Concerned Citizens of the South End, who oppose gas tanks in the neighborhood, and a former member of Save the Bay and the Democratic City Committee, Ward 2.
Mrs. Cote was a parishioner of Good Shepherd Church.
She enjoyed gardening and boating.
She leaves two daughters, Ann M. Burns of Raynham, Mass., and Susan C. Cote of Fall River; a sister, Josephine Forcier of Middleboro; four brothers, Leon and Arthur Gamache, both of Middleboro, and Jules and Joseph Gamache, both of Lakeville, Mass.; five grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. She was a sister of the late Ernestine Stuart and George and Paul Gamache.
The funeral will be held Friday at 9:30 a.m. from the Boule Funeral Home, 615 Broadway, with a funeral Mass at 11 in Good Shepherd Church, South Main Street. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Middleboro.
