AGAWAM - Ethel M. (Anderson) Gamache, 86, of Central Street, entered into eternal rest on Saturday, November 5, 2005 in a local nursing home. Born in Ludlow, she lived in the Indian Orchard section of Springfield and was a 1938 graduate of the High School of Commerce. She moved to Agawam in 1985. Ethel was a retired thirty year unit secretary at Baystate Medical Center, retiring in 1991. She was a communicant of St. John the Evangelist Church. Her husband, Lawrence A. Gamache died on Aug. 7, 1992. She leaves a son and his wife, Robert L. and Beth Gamache of Hampden, a daughter and her husband, Margaret K. and Richard Chamberlain of Easthampton, two brothers, William G. Anderson and Joseph M. Anderson both of Agawam, three sisters, Mary Tshonas of Springfield, Helen Norton of Broad Brook, CT, Alice Chrusciel of Newtown, CT, three grandchildren, Jacklyn (Labossiere) Wnuk of West Chazy, NY, Corey R. Gamache of Holyoke, Joshua Gamache of Hampden, three great-granddaughters, Rachael, Raelene and Renee Wnuk, several nephews and nieces. She was pre-deceased by a brother, John F. Anderson and a sister, Grace McGrath. The funeral will be Tuesday at 9:30 a.m. from the Agawam Funeral Home, 184 Main Street with a Mass in St. John the Evangelist Church at 10. Burial will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery. Calling hours will precede the service from 8:30 - 9:30. Donations may be made to the Visiting Nurse & Hospice, Box 9058, Springfield, MA 01102-9058.
