Deceased Name: RAYMOND W. GAMACHE, FALLS SCIENCE TEACHER
Raymond W. Gamache, 73, a science teacher at the former Gaskill Junior High School for more than 25 years, died Tuesday (Jan. 19, 1999) in Mount St. Mary's Hospital, Lewiston, after a brief illness.
He was born in Mills, attended schools there and was a graduate of Syracuse University.
Gamache received an honorable discharge from the U.S. Army after serving in an armored infantry division as a corporal during the Korean War.
He was formerly a chemical analyst with Hooker Chemical Co. for several years during the 1950s. He then taught science at Gaskill Junior High School, retiring in 1987.
Gamache was a former member of St. Teresa of the Infant Jesus Catholic Church.
His wife, Susan Beebe Gamache, died in 1992.
Survivors include a daughter, Kimberly Williams of Lewiston; two sons, Scott of DeSoto, Texas, and Kevin; three sisters, Beatrice Crumb, Mildred Hodge and Mabel Alamond, all of Utica; a brother, Woodrow of South Dakota; and three grandsons.
Services will be held at 8:30 p.m. Friday in Lane Funeral Home, 8622 Buffalo Ave. Burial will be in Dickersonville Cemetery, Ransomville.
