GLENS FALLS ? Dorothy M. ?Dot? (Harding) Gamache, 84, of Glens Falls, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, Aug. 15, 2018 at the Glens Falls Center for Rehab and Nursing.
Born on March 27, 1934 in Claremont, New Hampshire, she was the daughter of the late Carl and Helen (Colby) Harding.
Following Fort Edward High School, Dot began her working career at Lori Lee Blouse Factory, formerly in Granville. She then started making slippers at the former Norma Footwear Company in Glens Falls. Most of her employment was at General Electric Company, where she began in 1955 and retired in 1996. Dot was proud to have been a member of the General Electric Quarter Century Club.
On April 10, 1989, she married Marcel J. Gamache. He passed away in April of 1989.
Dot was a member of the Christ Methodist Church of Glens Falls.
She loved listening to country music. Her favorite singer was Elvis.
Dot enjoyed cooking for her family, especially during the holidays. She was an avid fan of the food channel.
Beside her parents and husband, she was predeceased by her five sisters, Betty Shaw, Joan Engwer, Catherine Harding, Mary Pryor and Pauline Sanborn; and her brother, Charles Harding.
Survivors include her children, Sheryl Wilson of Rockford, Illinois, Deborah Rozell of Granville, Valerie L. Gamache of Wilmington, North Carolina and Bruce E. Crandall of Glens Falls; two grandchildren, April Rozell and Becky Monger; her great-grandson, Russ Monger; her brothers, John Harding of Watertown and Richard Harding and his wife, Janet, of Queensbury; her sister, Caroline Harding of North Carolina; her special nephew and his wife, Dan and Betty Crandall; and several other nieces, nephews and cousins.
Friends may call from 3 to 4 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 20, at the Carleton Funeral Home, Inc., 68 Main St. in Hudson Falls.
Funeral services will follow the calling hour at 4 p.m. on Monday at the funeral home.
Burial will be at Glens Falls Cemetery in Glens Falls at a later date.
The family suggests that memorial donations be made to the American Lung Association, 155 Washington Ave., Suite 210, Albany, NY 12210.
