Alice M. Roy, 96, of Woodridge Nursing Home in Berlin and formerly of Barre City, died Monday, July 10, 2017, at Central Vermont Medical Center in Berlin.
She was born Nov. 26, 1920, in Barre City, the daughter of Eugene and Anna Marie (Gamache) Fournier.
She attended St. Monica Catholic School in Barre.
On Feb. 14, 1946, she married Gerard Alfred Roy in Barre. He died in 1962.
Mrs. Roy was employed as a cook at St. Monica School for many years.
She was a member of St. Monica Catholic Church, Ste. Jean the Baptist Society, Catholic Daughters of the Americas, Court St. Monica, and American Legion Post #10 Ladies Auxiliary, of Barre.
She enjoyed playing spoons, music and scratch-off lottery tickets.
Survivors include three children, Anna Roy, of Swanton, Alfred Roy, of Barre Town, Aline Roy, of Miami, Florida, two grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Roy was also predeceased by five siblings, Margaret Duquette, George, Jennie, Elsie and Albert Fournier.
The graveside service will be private. There are no calling hours.
