DICKSON, Monique Gamache 1935-2016 It is with extreme sadness that we announce the passing away of Monique Gamache Dickson. Born November 18, 1935 in Quebec City, Quebec, to Fernande Noël and Donat Gamache, she died peacefully at Joseph Brant Hospital, Sunday, February 28, 2016 at the age of 80 years. Medical technologist by trade, she worked in the late 1950's at CARDE-Valcartier Research Centre. In 1970, the family moved to Burlington, Ontario. After being there for her children's' formative years, she worked as secretary for École St-Phillip, as translator at French Unlimited and later as representative for Canadian Retail Hardware Association. She leaves her husband of 55 years, Dr. John H. Dickson, son John R. (Mildred Dorismond), daughter Kathleen (Dr. John Bergeron), grandchildren Julien, Xavier and Sébastien, step-grandchildren Dr. Natasha Bergeron (Éric Brissette) and Fabien Bergeron (Karine Lemire) and sister Mtre. Michèle Gamache. She is predeceased by sister Claire, sister Jacqueline (Jacques Allard), and brother Dr. André Gamache (France Rivest). She also leaves nephews Pierre Allard (Annie Roy), Jean-François Allard (Caroline Masson), Denis and Pierre Gamache as well as grandnieces Béatrice Allard and Jennifer Gamache and grandnephews Ulysse Allard and Alexandre Gamache. She also leaves many cousins, notably Dr. Noël-Henri Montgrain (Sylvie Garneau), predeceased by Dr. Pierre Montgrain (Thérèse Marois), Louise Roy (late Yves Giroux) and Hélène Roy. We will receive friends and family Friday, March 11, 2016 from 6 to 10 p.m. and Saturday, March 12, 2016 from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at La Maison Darche Funeral Home, 505 Boul. Curé-Poirier Ouest, Longueuil, QC, J4J 2H5. (www.dignitequebec.com) The funeral will be on Saturday, March 12, 2016 at 1:30 p.m. at the Cocathédrale Saint-Antoine-de-Padoue, 55, Ste-Elizabeth, Longueuil, QC, J4H 1J3. For close family members, the interment will be at 1:30 p.m., Tuesday, March 15, 2016 at the Cimetière Saint-Charles, 460 Wilfrid-Hamel, Ville de Québec, QC, G1N 3Y6. We will gather an hour before and depart from the Complexe Funéraire Sylvio Marceau, 224, rue St-Vallier, QC, G1K 1K2. In lieu of flowers, please send a donation to the Alzheimer Society of Canada.
