Margaret Bertolasio, 94, of Warren, died at 2:32AM Wednesday March 30, 2016 at Shepherd of The Valley in Howland.
She was born July 23, 1921 in Cumberland, Wisconsin the daughter of Frank and Mary Schurapty Smaltz.
Margaret was a 1939 graduate of Farrell High School, employed at Smaltz Dairy; her small family dairy farm, at Westinghouse in Sharon for nine years, and also as an inspector at Packard Electric for 31 years retiring in 1981. She was a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Parish in Niles, The Mosquito Lake Power Squadron Auxiliary, enjoyed sewing, playing cards, crafts, gardening, bowling, listening to Polka Music, and attending all family gatherings
Her husband Raymond Bertolasio whom she married January 25, 1947 died June 26, 1997.
She will be deeply missed by two daughters, Elaine Bertolasio of Warren and Karen Bertolasio of East Liverpool, Ohio.
She is preceded in death by six brothers, Frank Smaltz, John Smaltz, Matt Smaltz, Martin Smaltz, Joe Smaltz, and Rudy Smaltz and five sisters, Mary Koluncich, Anna Ross, Rose Vranjes, Helen Santell, and Agnes Sherman
Friends may call Friday from 5 to 7PM at The Joseph Rossi and Sons Funeral Home in Niles where The Mount Carmel Bereavement Ministry will conduct prayers at 6:30PM.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10AM Saturday at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church preceded by a 9:30AM prayer service at the funeral home.
Burial will be in All Souls Cemetery in Bazetta.
