James L. Peterson

DESLOGE ? James L. Peterson, 74 of Bismarck passed away May 23, 2009, at Jefferson Memorial Hospital in Crystal City. He was born March 12, 1935 to the late Fred E. and Hazel ?Benham? Peterson.
Mr. Peterson is survived by his wife, Wilma L. Peterson of Bismarck; one sister, Selma Usina of Lemay; two sons, Jeff Peterson and fiancee Lorie Hall of Desloge, and Erik Peterson of Bismarck; four daughters, Detra, Mrs. Dennis, Gamache of Iron Mt., Wanda Smith and fiancee Dan Singleton of Fulton, Lonna Hannah of Leadington, and Laura, Mrs. Randy King of Bismarck. Also surviving are, a nephew, Flynt Usina of Fenton; 10 Grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren; and mother-in-law, Alta Buxton of Cadet.
Mr. Peterson was a founder and presiding president of the Elvins Food Pantry in Park Hills. He served as city alderman in Bismarck one term and was a board member of the Bismarck Chamber of Commerce. Jim was also a charter member of the Desloge Eagles Lodge.
Visitation for James Peterson will be from 6 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, May 26, with funeral services following on Wednesday at 2 p.m. at the C. Z. Boyer & Son Funeral Home and Chapel in Desloge. Interment will take place at the Workmen Cemetery in Park Hills.
Memorials may be given to the Elvins Food Pantry.
