Ernest R. Gamache, 71, of Gladwin, died Friday, Oct. 1, 1999 at MidMichigan Medical Center-Midland, after a long illness.
Born April 2, 1928 in Highland Park, Ill., he lived in Gladwin County since 1997 and previously lived in Commerce Township.
Ernest married Catherine (Reaber), May 7, 1968 in Union Lake. He worked as an iron worker for Iron Worker local 25 in Novi, retiring in 1973. He was a merchant marine in World War II.
Besides his wife he is survived by three sons, Richard of Wixom, Steve and wife Elaine of Clarkston, and Roy and wife Tamarra of Harrison; two daughters, Donna and husband Greg Wigner of Dundee, and Michelle and husband Brian Micknass of Gladwin; 17 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
